Scholiki Terms of Use

Effective October 1, 2026 · Last updated October 1, 2026

For Direct-to-Student and Educational Institution Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, applications, educational content, learning tools, artificial intelligence features, and related services provided by Scholiki Corporation (“Scholiki,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collectively referred to as the “Services,” whether you use Scholiki directly or through a college, university, school, or other educational institution (an “Educational Institution”).

By creating a direct account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Scholiki through an Educational Institution, your use may also be subject to your institution’s policies and to an agreement between Scholiki and the Educational Institution. If there is a conflict concerning institutional use, the applicable agreement with the Educational Institution will control to the extent of the conflict. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

1. About Scholiki

Scholiki provides educational tools designed to help students understand academic concepts, practice skills, work through problems, receive feedback and assistance, and improve their learning.

Scholiki may provide features including instructional materials, practice problems, hints, explanations, assessments, artificial intelligence-assisted feedback, progress tracking, points, streaks, achievements, and other educational tools.

Scholiki is intended to support learning rather than replace the student’s own academic work and judgment.

2. Eligibility

For direct-to-student use, Scholiki is intended for individuals who are at least 13 years old.

You may not create a direct-to-student Scholiki account if you are under 13.

If you use Scholiki directly and are under the age at which you may independently enter into a binding agreement where you live, your use of Scholiki must be authorized by your parent or legal guardian.

When Scholiki is provided through an Educational Institution, eligibility and authorization to use the Services may be determined by that institution and applicable law. Your institution may provision or authorize your access even if you do not create a separate direct-to-student account.

2A. Use Through an Educational Institution

If your Educational Institution provides or requires access to Scholiki, Scholiki may provide the Services as a service provider to that institution. Your institution may determine which courses, topics, assignments, assessments, features, and integrations are available to you.

Your institution or instructor may provide Scholiki with information needed to operate the Services, including identity, course, enrollment, assignment, assessment, and related information, as described in the Scholiki Privacy Policy and any applicable agreement with the institution.

Your institution may receive information generated through your institutional use of Scholiki, including participation, responses, assessment results, progress information, and grades or scores where enabled. For example, assessment results may be passed through an LMS integration such as Ed.link to the institution’s learning management system.

When education records are processed on behalf of an Educational Institution, requests to inspect, correct, delete, or otherwise exercise rights concerning those institutional records generally should be directed to the Educational Institution. Scholiki will assist the institution as required by applicable law and the applicable institutional agreement.

The Educational Institution remains responsible for its academic decisions, course requirements, grading policies, and instructions to students. Scholiki does not control an institution’s academic policies or determine a student’s final course grade.

3. Your Account

Certain Scholiki features require an account or institution-authorized access. If you use Scholiki through an Educational Institution, your account or access may be created, provisioned, authenticated, or managed through the institution or its learning management system.

If you create a direct account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current. For institution-provisioned access, account and enrollment information may be supplied or managed by your Educational Institution or its authorized integration provider.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activities conducted through your account.

You may not:

  • Share your account credentials with another person;
  • Allow another person to use your account to complete academic work;
  • Access another user’s account without authorization; or
  • Attempt to impersonate another person.

Please notify Scholiki promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

4. Educational Use

Scholiki is provided as an educational and learning-support service.

When Scholiki is used through an Educational Institution, instructors or administrators may assign topics, review materials, practice activities, or assessments and may establish course-specific requirements for use of the Services.

You may use Scholiki to:

  • Learn academic concepts;
  • Practice problems;
  • Receive hints and explanations;
  • Review instructional materials;
  • Assess your understanding;
  • Prepare for coursework and examinations;
  • Identify areas in which additional study may be helpful; and
  • Track your learning progress.

Scholiki does not guarantee any particular grade, examination result, course outcome, academic credit, admission decision, or educational result.

5. Academic Integrity

Scholiki is designed to help you learn how to solve problems yourself.

You are responsible for complying with the academic integrity policies, honor codes, examination rules, course requirements, and instructions of your school, college, university, instructor, or other educational institution.

You may not knowingly use Scholiki to:

  • Cheat on an examination, quiz, or assessment;
  • Complete an assignment when use of outside assistance is prohibited;
  • Misrepresent Scholiki-generated work as entirely your own when doing so violates applicable academic rules;
  • Obtain unauthorized answers to restricted examinations or assessments;
  • Help another person violate academic integrity requirements; or
  • Circumvent technological or procedural controls designed to protect an examination or assessment.

Scholiki does not determine what assistance your instructor permits. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules applicable to your course.

6. Artificial Intelligence Features

Scholiki may use artificial intelligence (“AI”) to provide features such as explanations, hints, feedback, practice problems, problem variations, learning recommendations, assessment assistance, and other educational content.

AI systems are probabilistic and may make mistakes.

AI-generated information may be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate for a particular course or situation.

You should evaluate AI-generated responses and, where appropriate, compare them with your course materials, textbook, instructor’s guidance, or other reliable sources.

Scholiki does not guarantee that AI-generated content is accurate or error-free.

7. Your Work and Submissions

You may submit answers, calculations, explanations, questions, written responses, or other material while using Scholiki (“User Content”).

You retain ownership of User Content that you own.

For direct-to-student use, you grant Scholiki a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, analyze, display, and otherwise use your User Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, evaluate, and improve the Services and as described in our Privacy Policy. For use through an Educational Institution, Scholiki’s processing and use of User Content and education records are also subject to the applicable institutional agreement, the institution’s instructions, and applicable law.

This license ends when the relevant User Content is deleted from our systems, except to the extent that:

  • Retention is required by law;
  • Information must temporarily remain in backups or security systems;
  • Information has been properly de-identified or aggregated; or
  • Continued retention is otherwise permitted under our Privacy Policy.

You should not submit confidential information or personal information about another person unless you are authorized to do so.

8. Scholiki Content and Intellectual Property

Except for User Content and third-party materials, the Services and materials provided through Scholiki, including software, educational content, explanations, problems and exercises, graphics, videos, assessments, learning methodologies, user interfaces, logos, trademarks, and other materials, are owned by or licensed to Scholiki and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, Scholiki grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for your own educational purposes.

You may not, except as permitted by law or expressly authorized by Scholiki:

  • Copy or redistribute substantial portions of Scholiki content;
  • Sell or commercially exploit Scholiki content;
  • Create or distribute a competing problem bank using Scholiki content;
  • Scrape or systematically extract Scholiki content or data;
  • Use automated systems to download substantial quantities of content;
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to obtain the source code of Scholiki software;
  • Remove copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices; or
  • Use Scholiki’s name or trademarks in a manner that implies sponsorship or endorsement without authorization.

9. Automated Access and AI Training

Unless Scholiki provides express written authorization, you may not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, automated agents, or similar technologies to systematically access or extract non-public portions of the Services.

You may not systematically extract Scholiki’s proprietary educational content, problem sets, explanations, assessments, or other protected materials for the purpose of creating, training, fine-tuning, evaluating, or improving another artificial intelligence or machine-learning system without Scholiki’s written permission.

This provision does not prohibit ordinary use of publicly accessible Scholiki webpages by search engines or other services where such access is permitted by Scholiki’s technical controls and applicable law.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Scholiki for unlawful purposes;
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the Services;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Scholiki systems;
  • Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without authorization;
  • Introduce malware or harmful code;
  • Circumvent access, security, or usage restrictions;
  • Use automated means to create accounts or artificially generate activity;
  • Manipulate points, streaks, badges, rankings, assessments, or other Scholiki features;
  • Harass or harm other users;
  • Upload unlawful or infringing content; or
  • Use the Services in a manner that materially interferes with other users’ ability to use Scholiki.

11. Points, Streaks, Badges and Other Rewards

Scholiki may provide points, streaks, levels, badges, achievements, rankings, or similar features to encourage learning and participation.

These features:

  • Have no cash value;
  • Are not property;
  • Cannot be redeemed for money unless Scholiki expressly states otherwise;
  • May be changed, reset, corrected, or discontinued; and
  • May be removed if obtained through manipulation, technical errors, or misuse.

Scholiki may modify its reward systems as the Service evolves.

12. Free Services and Future Paid Features

Scholiki may provide some or all Services without charge.

The availability of a feature without charge does not guarantee that the feature will remain free indefinitely.

For direct-to-student users, Scholiki may introduce paid subscriptions, courses, premium features, or other paid services in the future. Services provided through an Educational Institution may instead be paid for, licensed, or otherwise made available under a separate agreement with that institution.

For direct purchases, we will disclose applicable prices and payment terms before charging you. Institutional pricing and payment terms, if any, are governed by the applicable agreement with the Educational Institution.

We will not charge a direct-to-student user merely because a previously free feature becomes paid. You will be asked to affirmatively agree to any direct purchase or subscription. This provision does not affect fees, tuition, or charges imposed independently by an Educational Institution.

13. Third-Party Services

Scholiki may rely on or provide access to third-party services, including cloud infrastructure, authentication systems, learning management systems and integration providers (such as Ed.link), artificial intelligence providers, video services, educational resources, and other technologies.

Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Scholiki is not responsible for third-party websites or services that it does not control.

14. Privacy

Your use of Scholiki is subject to the Scholiki Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains the types of information we collect and how we use, disclose, protect, and retain that information.

For users accessing Scholiki through an Educational Institution, our handling of institutional and student information may also be governed by FERPA, other applicable privacy requirements, and Scholiki’s agreement with the institution.

15. Feedback

We welcome suggestions and feedback about Scholiki.

If you voluntarily provide ideas, suggestions, recommendations, or other feedback concerning the Services, you grant Scholiki the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.

This does not give Scholiki ownership of your personal learning work or other User Content merely because you submit it through the Services.

16. Changes to the Services

Scholiki is an evolving educational platform.

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Services.

We may also modify educational content, AI features, learning methodologies, points systems, assessments, or other aspects of the Services as we develop and improve Scholiki.

Where required by law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes.

17. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Scholiki at any time.

If you have a direct-to-student account, you may request deletion as described in our Privacy Policy or through available account controls. If you use Scholiki through an Educational Institution, account status, access, retention, correction, and deletion of institutional records may be controlled by the institution and applicable law; such requests generally should be directed to your institution.

Scholiki may suspend or terminate access to the Services if we reasonably believe that you:

  • Materially violated these Terms;
  • Created a security risk;
  • Used the Services fraudulently;
  • Seriously or repeatedly violated academic integrity provisions;
  • Infringed intellectual property rights; or
  • Used the Services in a manner that could materially harm Scholiki or others.

Where reasonable under the circumstances, Scholiki may provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue before termination. For institution-provisioned access, Scholiki may coordinate suspension or termination with the Educational Institution, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect security, users, or the Services.

18. Educational Disclaimer

Scholiki is a supplemental educational service.

Scholiki is not a school, college, university, accredited educational institution, or substitute for an instructor unless expressly stated otherwise.

Scholiki does not award academic credit or degrees.

Educational content and AI-generated information are provided for learning and informational purposes and may contain errors.

You remain responsible for your coursework, academic decisions, and compliance with your institution’s requirements.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

Scholiki does not warrant that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, accurate, complete, or error-free.

Scholiki does not warrant that use of the Services will result in any particular educational outcome, grade, examination score, academic achievement, or other result.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

20. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SCHOLIKI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Scholiki’s aggregate liability arising from or relating to the free Services will not exceed US $100.

If you purchase a paid Service, Scholiki’s aggregate liability relating to that paid Service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid Scholiki for that Service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

If Scholiki provides the Services under a written agreement with your Educational Institution, liability between Scholiki and that institution is governed by that agreement. Nothing in these Terms is intended to alter the rights or obligations of the Educational Institution under its agreement with Scholiki.

21. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Scholiki harmless from third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the Services, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

This provision does not require you to indemnify Scholiki for Scholiki’s own unlawful conduct.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Scholiki and applicable laws evolve.

When we update the Terms, we will change the “Last Updated” date.

If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by law.

Your continued use of the Services following the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of those Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

23. Governing Law

For direct-to-student use, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent that applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise. If you access Scholiki through an Educational Institution, the governing-law provisions of Scholiki’s agreement with that institution apply to the institution’s contractual relationship with Scholiki.

24. Dispute Resolution

For disputes arising from direct-to-student use, before filing a lawsuit relating to these Terms or the Services, you and Scholiki agree to attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally. Disputes between Scholiki and an Educational Institution are governed by the applicable institutional agreement.

A user may initiate informal resolution by contacting Scholiki at contact@scholiki.com and providing a brief description of the dispute and the requested resolution.

Scholiki will attempt to resolve the matter within 30 days.

Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking relief in small claims court where eligible or seeking emergency injunctive relief where permitted by law.

25. General Terms

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.

Scholiki’s failure to enforce a provision does not waive its right to enforce that provision later.

You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without Scholiki’s consent. Scholiki may transfer its rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of its business or assets.

For direct-to-student use, these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly applicable to a particular Service, constitute the agreement between you and Scholiki regarding your use of the Services. For institution-provisioned use, these Terms operate together with the Privacy Policy, applicable institutional policies, and the agreement between Scholiki and the Educational Institution. If there is a conflict, the institutional agreement controls with respect to the institution’s use and Scholiki’s obligations to that institution.
